What stale hell is this? Chapman Study SUPPORTS autism as a disorder of toxicity.

Right before I went to bed last night, this little gem popped up in my news feed.

Spike In Autism Caused By Shift In Diagnosis. –Chapman Study.

It took five minutes of me skimming their findings to comment:

“Did it ever occur to them that less kids are being Dx’d with SLD because as toxic exposures increase, the kids with SLD who were likely something mild like a dyslexia kid, or ADHD, are now the kids with a more severe Dx. The shift in Dx is because the child is more severely affected.”

Anyone who spends a couple days looking into how the forward thinking Doctors, Practioners, and Parents of today are treating autism successfully, they will see what we’ve all come to learn –which is that autism is a disorder of toxic overload. Research supports it. Labs support it. Clinical outcomes supports it. The fact that my 19 year old son’s ATEC score dropped from 100 to 51 after 4 months of a detox protocol really supports it.
(Link to the first TMR study on the Ioncleanse by AMD here. My son was in the second study. The second study showed even more improvements for kids of all ages with a more frequent protocol.)

SLD very likely included the “Canary Kids” Simply put, there are kids more genetically susceptible to toxins.  Genes do not change drastically in 20 years, environmental exposure can –and has. With less exposures these were very likely the dyslexia kids. Dysgraphia, Reading Problems, Comprehension Issues, etc. (Offically “Includes disorders resulting in difficulties with listening, thinking, speaking, reading, writing, spelling, or doing mathematical calculations.”)

This study looks at the numbers in 2000 and how they’ve shifted since then. My son was born in 1996. The kids in school in 2000 in the SLD category were the kids BEFORE the addition of the birth dose of Hep B. They were the beginning of the wave of new “Autism”. There was already a category for Autism in 2000. I promise you, no one would have confused Autism for SLD, even in 2000. There is no way you’d look at my toe running, hand flapping, non-verbal kid and say, “Hm. Call it SLD, we don’t know what it is!”

This article references NeuroTribes and the idea that the change in the diagnosing criteria in 1987 is the reason for the shift. 1987 vs. 2000. Are you telling me that no one in the school system or medical community picked up the DSM-IV until 2000? The shift we are seeing in the numbers in the diagnostic categories for this study shows what happens when you take genetically susceptible kids and pile more and more toxins into their bodies and brains. Kids are WORSE. Yes, the same number of kids are affected, but the severity is the issue.

So, I’m going to ask you to consider that our DNA has not changed significantly but that toxic exposure HAS increased.
Consider that some kids are genetically susceptible.
Consider that the numbers shifted each year because as toxic exposure went up, kids tipped from having a less severe issue like “reading comprehension problems” to full blown “autism”.
Consider the implications. Whether you believe it is vaccines, plastics chemicals, GMOs or whatever… Consider it.

So, thank you Chapman! Your study supports what myself and many in the field have been screaming from the mountain tops –you just were not equipped with all the info when you interpreted your findings. Please go back and look at it again with this information.

Genetically susceptible kids exist. FIND THEM. Pretty please.

It’s the adjuvants, stupid.

Someone replied to a comment of mine yesterday with this little ditty, trying to tell me that a decrease in vaccine complexity came before the increase in autism.

complexity

About a year ago some troll tried to engage me on the same issue. I ignored it at the time.

This isn’t a long blog post today… it’s a treat. Food for thought.

This isn’t about the “complexity”. This isn’t about antigens.
This is about the toxic adjuvants and preservatives in the vaccines. The ACTUAL neurotoxins.
And the DNA fragments.

Please. Do some research on your own.

You ignorant, servile scum!

What were you thinking? Dragging our asses half way around the world, interrupting our lives… For what?  You ignorant, servile scum! What the fuck are we doing here?

This was an old blog. Full of ranting and screaming.
And somewhere in the middle of it is a bit of good writing –or… at least the pieces of what could be good writing. But… “That’s enough, Webster. Give it a rest.”

I am deleting a LOT. You are welcome. Just saving some snippets… so if it doesn’t flow easy, just remember that I deleted a lot of ALL CAP CURSING:

On a recent re-watch of Band of Brothers, when Webster spoke, it hit me a different way.  My mind went to autism immediately as I pondered, “What the fuck are were doing here?” I DO feel like my ass was dragged half way around the world –a life interrupted –and for what? Ego and Profit. What. The FUCK. Are we DOING here?

When I had a child in 1996 it never even occurred to me that I should question the doctors that were caring for me and my newborn.  They were my coworkers.  I was just sure they had my best interests in mind and that they had the best training and experience that they could possibly have.

But, this is 2011. People like me are shoving the vaccine debate in your face on a daily basis. We are screaming… SCREAMING that autism is a MEDICAL disorder. We are posting study after study that support the link between vaccines and autism. We are talking –you are ignoring.

Vaccines are SUPPOSED to be a matter of RISK vs. BENEFIT.  LIKE ALL MEDICINES they carry a risk of severe injury up to and including DEATH.  THEREFORE the THING you are fighting ought to have a higher risk of such an outcome.
Chicken Pox, Measles, Mumps… are not deadly.  They are pains in the ass… but not deadly.
There is a difference between DEADLY disease and child hood illnesses.

Group Think –it’s nothing to be PROUD OF.

Somewhere along the way, while the humans were choosing to remain passive, uninformed morons… the vaccine manufactures who makes BILLIONS upon BILLIONS from vaccines took advantage OF our ignorance and pushed through one of the MOST successful advertising, PR campaigns in MOTHER FUCKING HISTORY –next to Hitler’s that is…

Have YOU PEOPLE noticed something?? Did you notice that ONE generation ago, we all got about 8 shots and NO ONE in this country died from MASSIVE disease epidemics?  HAVE YOU bothered to notice that kids now get 36 shots before they are 18 months old?  51 by age 5?? Have you noticed that chronic illness now DEFINES us??

How much is too much people? When does the fucking light bulb go off over your heads?? WHAT does it TAKE for you to look up from the herd and say, “What the fuck?? This is OUT OF CONTROL!”

I rather be shot by Jim Jones than forced to drink his Kool-aide. That’s just how I roll.

What the fuck are we doing here?

THIS IS 2011. NOW, TODAY! Your inaction –your refusal to educate yourselves –your refusal to break free from the group-thinking herd is KILLING children.

In the Army we were taught that it is OK to refuse unlawful orders. See, even the US Army says it’s ok to contemplate whether or not your orders are moral and legal. Is THAT basic HUMAN instinct bred out of the vast majority?

It is TIME to stop taking someone’s word for it! It is TIME to STOP thinking that vaccines are mandatory and that they are safe and effective –just because someone told you so.  It’s time to stop listening to ASSHATS like Paul Offit and the Mainstream Media without doing the research and reading and thinking for YOURSELF.

When we finally admit what causes autism… we CAN stop it.
When we finally admit what autism IS…. We can treat it and for some, even recover their kids.

Hey You! Hey You! That’s right… you STUPID American Idiots…. That’s right… Say HELLO to the Autism Warrior Mothers and Fathers!  You stupid Pharma Whores! Look at you!!! You have fraudulent studies!! What were you thinking? Dragging our asses half way around the world, interrupting our lives… For what?  You ignorant, servile scum! What the fuck are we doing here?

Autism Scrub Bucket Challenge

This ALS Ice Bucket Challenge, gave me an idea for one for Autism.

yep

For the Autism Scrub Bucket Challenge you grab your scrub bucket, gloves and non-toxic cleaning supplies and go to the home of someone with an autistic child who fecal smears and you help scrub their walls and floors… and furniture… and light fixtures.

When you are done, Never EVER say, “I don’t know how you do it!” No!!! Replace that thought with the act of giving them a $50 on your way out the door. Post your videos!! I nominate ALL OF YOU.
#AutismScrubBucketChallenge

UPDATE: So, I have been getting serious inquires from people about this and a lot of hits on it from search engines. I did this a bit tongue-in-cheek –I have a twisted sense of humor. That doesn’t mean you can’t do it 🙂 Find a family to help. Clean or babysit or slip them some cash. Trust me… none of us ever have enough money. If you want to donate to an org, give to The Nation Autism Association. THEY HELP REAL PEOPLE. DON’T GIVE TO Autism Speaks.

Only a mom, in a funny red sheet.

Another child with autism has wandered to their death –death by drowning.

[It’s now official. The body of the child found was Leo.]

The mom last saw the child at 4 a.m. She fell asleep. For 15 minutes. Sometimes, that’s all it takes. Sometimes kids in houses locked down with better security than Fort Knox get out.

I beat this into the ground, I know… but the autism you see portrayed in the media is not reality for many of us.  That is why “autism” is not given the attention it ought to be given.

The autism parents I know are superhuman –but even super-humans need to sleep once in a while. On lack of sleep we don’t function very well. Imagine years of lack of sleep. Add on a heaping pile of adrenal fatigue from our 24/7 fight or flight/red alert world. The world we survive in because we know, that at any second, the shit could hit the fan.

The stress and lack of sleep have a lovely downward-spiral way about them… once you are in that cycle it just gets worse. I am so disorganized at this point in my life that every day gets harder and harder. It’s damn near impossible to think about what I am going to be doing five minutes from now.

I know I am not the only autism parent in the world who’s slid the couch in front of the door to catch a nap. Our kids by their very nature don’t sleep well. So we don’t sleep well. I can remember when my son went through a phase of waking me up by screaming several times a night (all because his sheets came untucked at the bottom. Thank the Dogs for XL twin beds for giants).  My life has gotten a little better because, for the moment, we are sleeping better. But the connections in my brain are still there. One scream from him derails my whole day. Brings it all back.

By the way, we are sleeping better because I let him drop out of school and adjust to his own sleep schedule which is about 3 a.m. to noon for him. That is not really a good solution, is it? It’s survival, but it means that I get no free time now.

We are hyper-vigilant. We don’t relax.

Yet, we are mere mortals.

A couple months ago my son sprained his ankle pretty bad out in the yard.  It took me a while to realize what really happened, as his language skills are that of a two year old at best.  He fell. He fell trying to climb over our 6 foot privacy fence into the neighbors yard because he is obsessed with their pool.  I put in a nice sized above ground pool for him –but theirs… Oh, theirs is a nice in-ground pool surrounded by a screened in lanai.

Have you ever been thankful that your kid got hurt? Welcome to autism-land!  I WAS.  Because the pain of that sprained ankle means he won’t try that again.

About a month later we got home while the lawn was being mowed. Gavin went out back immediately. I started to walk down the hall to the bathroom… I heard the neighbors dog begin to bark in an unusual way. A red flag. My foggy brain made the connection –the gate to the fence was unlocked while the grass was being mowed. I turned and ran and got outside just in time to see the neighbor looking confused and agitated (we’re new here, hadn’t met them yet) and my son trying to break into their lanai.

What if? What if I hadn’t heard the dog and spent a couple minutes back the hall in my bathroom before I realized what had happened?  What if Gavin (17 years old, 6 foot 1, complete with mustache, freakishly strong and scary –if you don’t realize what autism is) had a meltdown when she told him to leave…What if the neighbors felt threatened?  What if they shot him?

What if?

What if an exhausted mom who very likely hasn’t slept good in years falls asleep for 15 minutes. Her kid drowns, that’s ‘what if’. And she now has to live with that for the rest of her life.

When these cases –and I lost track of how many this summer so far… 15 maybe? 20? were brought up to the IACC one of the adults with Asperger’s on that committee suggested arm floaties.
Can you see part of the reasons behind my frustration?

The squeaky wheels getting the gov’t appointments on these committees do not have the same “autism” that my son has. And businesses like Chili’s who canceled a fundraiser for AWAARE –one that would have raised money to help prevent wandering deaths, cave to the bull shit spewed at them from the crowd of people who think autism is a GIFT.

Come spend a week with me and see what autism really is. Bring your own vodka because I don’t have enough to share.

And if there is autism in your neighborhood, go knock on their door and get to know them and their kids and offer to babysit so mom can take a freaking nap or get out of the house for a couple hours to clear her head. And don’t take offense when we turn down your offer because you just don’t know our kid well enough to take on the role of babysitter for a couple hours.

To the hundreds of moms and dads who’ve lost their kids to autism because they fell asleep, because they took a minute to go to the bathroom, or do the laundry, or tend to their other child for 30 seconds –because they had a human moment… All I can give you is the promise that I will keep screaming and trying to be heard.
